PLATO Learning Environment™ (PLE™) Customer Advisory

We recently identified two issues impacting the PLATO Learning Environment (PLE). The issues relate to the "roll up" of scores. In some circumstances, the system may have under-reported actual performance. One of the issues has already been resolved. We are actively working to correct the second issue and anticipate a fix to be released shortly.

Since performance affects grades, please follow the guidance provided below. You may need to re-run grade reports and possibly change Grade Reporting Templates within PLE.

  • All PLE customers should review the guidance provided in Issue Brief #1
  • PLE customers using custom courses built using PLATO Course Builder should review the guidance provided in Issue Brief #2.

We are committed to resolving this issue quickly. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Academic Systems® Algebra Updates

Many updates and fixes were made to Academic Systems® Algebra, and were released December 21, 2007, as well as January 11, 2008. These include fixing issues with accepted answers in many different lessons. Also, now when attempting to override a validation code, the "No licenses available" error will not occur when licenses are known to be available. See the full notes here.

PLATO® Courses Updates

A PLATO Courses maintenance release was published in December. The focus was on replacing broken links found in the Student Offline Activities, Answer Sheets, and Related Resource Documents. Some additional fixes were made. See the details here.

Flash Player Issues

A version of Flash Player is pre-installed with most popular Internet browsers. Sometimes, problems with a Flash Player that is already installed can prevent you from upgrading to the latest player. You can resolve almost all difficulties by taking the following steps described in 26118 — CW: Try this first: How to fix almost all Flash Player issues.
