PLATO® Life Science engages students’ in the scientific inquiry process as well as exercising their problem- solving, and critical-thinking skills, while providing standards-based interactive instruction and assessment, theme-based applications, and classroom teaching tools.
Animation, narration, and interaction demonstrate science concepts, enhance lectures, and provide direct instruction. Lessons provide hands-on problem solving and reinforce science concepts. The courseware includes an interactive glossary with proper pronunciation of terms.
Teachers can access the sophisticated test-item bank to assign objective-based pre- and post tests to determine students’ level of understanding and prescribe appropriate instruction.
PLATO Life Science is component of the three-part, award-winning PLATO® Middle School Science Series, which also includes PLATO® Earth and Space Science and PLATO® Physical Science. These curricula can be used effectively for whole class instruction, preparation for standards and high-stakes tests, individual or small group study, and remediation.
